Niraly Patel
Every once in awhile you meet someone that you just connect with. Someone who whisks into your life and fills you with happiness and laughter. Niraly was one of those people.
I had the pleasure of being Niraly's counselor at camp in 2006; from the moment Niraly got off the bus we were just good friends. She had this positive energy about her; always smiling, laughing and looking for friends. Niraly got along with everyone, and everyone seemed to know her; she was someone that people just wanted to be around.
Niraly was not one to let her fashion sense go at camp. While the rest of us were in basically our pajamas; Niraly was up getting ready and accessorizing her outfit with belts and scarf's. She always looked amazing!
When I first started counseling with Camp Discovery, I thought I had so much to offer my campers. I now realize that the campers have taught me more about myself then ever…..Niraly taught me a lot about friendship, attitude and about being genuine.
She will be greatly missed, and although her life was cut far too short, I feel so grateful for the time I had with her!
